Overview

	Britain?s only island. Portsmouth is a unique blend of seaside resort and naval heritage. Portsmouth & Southsea Backpackers is the city?s only independent hostel for travelers.
	It offers a friendly cosmopolitan atmosphere within easy reach of the major tourist attractions including the ships (Victory, Mary Rose and Warrior), the D Day museum, and the new Gunwharf Quays. It is only 150m from the beach and in an area containing an excellent variety of pubs, restaurants and clubs.
	The accommodation is mostly in small dorms for 4, and 6 people, but there are also twins, doubles, and family rooms some with en-suite facilities. All hot showers are free. We have a large social area which has Sky TV, internet facilities, pool, darts and a dining area.
	There is a large fully equipped kitchen, and a barbeque and seating in the garden area. There is also secure cycle storage.

Location & Transportation

There are plenty of attractions in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. There's something for everyone.
Directions	From the M27 take the M275 to Portsmouth and follow signs to the seafront. Drive along the seafront. Drive along the seafront until you see a blue glass building (The Pyramids) and here turn left. You will come to a mini roundabout. Turn right and Florence Road is then the 1st on the left.
Transportation	Public Transport From any bus or train station catch a bus, to Southsea and get off at the Strand. Walk back the way the bus has come and Florence Road is 2nd Left. Ferries from Portsmouth go to France, Spain, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Wight.
