An 18th century ruin that was recently rebuilt and located off the beaten track high in the upper reaches of the Grampian mountains in the new Cairngorms National Park. This south facing B&B is located in its own wood with magnificent views towards the mountains of Royal Deeside.
A Stuart period four-poster double bedroom and a twin-bedded room with authentic coverings and ensuite bathrooms with large powerful showers. Antiques abound throughout the house and maps, books and information are plentiful for guests
Breakfasts are sumptuous with home-made jams and breads, free range eggs and local produce cooked to your liking and taken at a gentle pace.
Location & Transportation
In a rural area on the east side of the Cairngorms National Park and located at 1150 ft above sea level. On the side of Glen Nochty and surrounded by rolling mountains, heather covered moors and pine forests. Strathdon is home of the world famous Lonach Highland Games.
Directions
On the A944 in Bellabeg, Strathdon, take the road by the Spar shop to Lost Gallery. Half a mile up road, track for Auld Cummerton on right.
