We would recommend Lakeview Guest House to all. Our welcome was warm and friendly; our farewell was very helpful with courtesy car to Car Hire return the evening before; and back to the Ferry in the morning. Walking distance to restaurants - by the way we recommend the Chinese restaurant "Hong Kong City" where the owners were very friendly and attentive and served some of the best Chinese food we have ever had.

I booked this B&B via the internet, without any pre info.
I was in for a pleasant surprise as soon as I entered. This is a first class residence with a beautiful decor.
The room we were given was very large and tastefully furnished.
Ensuite was perfectly clean as was the whole establishment.
We found the Landlady very friendly and charming.
Breakfast was excellent, (including the haggis).
I will use this B&B the next time I use the Ferry and I have no hesitation highly recommending this wonderful place to stay.

We stayed in Stranraer just one night as we were catching the ferry to Belfast in the morning. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was nicely cooked, and our host was gracious in taking us to the ferry terminal.

Only two 'niggles'
Although the bathroom was only for the room it was not in the room which meant coming out of the room, dressing gowns were supplied, it was not 'en suite'
Climbing the stairs!!! I was on the top floor.
BUT the view was fantastic.

I travel to Stirling, Scotland from Southern Ireland every Christmas with my son to visit family & for the past three years we've been breaking the journey at The Lakeview. A warm welcome at the front door, a cosy comfortable room complete with tea/coffee making facilities, followed by a hot freshly made breakfast the next morning after a great night's sleep in a nice soft bed. What more could you ask for? I would never contemplate staying anywhere else.
